Look for the peanut-free label on snacks and lunch items – most schools won't allow packaged snacks that don't have this marking on them.
Where are these schools? Most in Alberta have nothing like that. I very much dislike this article.

Well, this doesn't describe our school either (in Alberta). I don't know why they continue to focus on food bans...I'd really just like to not have the epipen locked up and have all the staff at the school know how to administer it.

And we wonder why people who don't have allergic kids think 'it's so easy, so much is being done'.

All of the schools where I live (also in Alberta) are 'allergy aware' and don't require snacks to have this label. The label can say 'peanut free' and still contain other nuts. (Like chocolate covered almonds.) And what about kids with other allergies? The article is misleading/confusing.

As a result of Sabrina's death, in 2006 legislation nicknamed "Sabrina's Law" came into effect.

This legislation requires schools in Canada to have an established policy to address the needs of children with anaphylaxis.
