The Vancouver Sun has published a powerful editorial in support of Bill M 210. And it used the words of Pam Lee to stake out its case.

Protecting children with allergies requires all-party support

Published: Thursday, May 10, 2007

"It's just a no-brainer," Pam Lee said of Bill 210, the Anaphylactic Student Protection Act, which will receive second reading in Victoria on May 28.

Lee, whose son suffers from a severe allergy to peanuts, certainly appears to be right. After all, Bill 210, which was introduced as non-partisan legislation by New Democratic Party education critic David Cubberly, should receive support from all MLAs.

The bill is designed to ensure that schools and school boards have plans in place to help students who have severe systemic allergic reactions -- anaphylaxis -- which can be fatal.
