sorry for starting a new string, but the title of the last one sounded so sad and pathetic I didn't want to write on it.

I got the furnace filter and the air purifier and that made a big difference. Thank you for your help, I had often looked at those purifiers but I did not want to spend the $, cos I didn't know if they worked or if they were just a gimic, but we could notice a real difference within a few hours. I will get him to an asthma educator and see if there is anything else I should look at.

For people who live close to the States, the purifiers cost about 1/3 less there, so I am planning to go and get another this weekend, but I don't know if I will have to pay duty.

The school nurse is working with the health and safety department and they will check the air quality in the two rooms. My son has not had another bad attack since, but his friend is being home schooled at the moment until they can get his asthma under control.
