I know we have lots of stories of problems at schools so I wanted to share a positive experience. My daughter vomited at school yesterday not long after their snack time. Right away the staff recognized that this could be a symptom of an allergic reaction. The teacher got help from additional staff since the rest of the class was heading outside. The principal and special ed teacher attended my daughter. My husband was called and he arrived about 10 minutes later. They observed her carefully for any additional signs. They noted that she felt a little warm - probably a low grade fever. They had the e-belt with the epipen with her ready to use. My daughter told me this later in the evening. I told her that it was very good idea to have her epipen ready in case she needed it.

When my husband arrived the principal was with her and she relayed all of the information. My husband explained that my son had been sick on the weekend and that it must be the stomache flu.

We have always been very pleased with how the school has responded to our concerns and my daughter's needs. I am so pleased with the response of the school yesterday. I hope our principal stays with the school for a while. I am writing a thank you note today to send to all involved. It must have been stressful for them worrying about whether my daughter was going to have an anaphylactic reaction.

katec -- thanks, It's nice to hear the good stories too -- it reminds me that there are people out there that do get it and it gives me some comfort knowing that I'll be sending my little one to school soon.
