I recently found this forum while seeking sesame free buns for my 2 1/2 year old allergic son. I got the following outstanding reply from Aunt Millie's (based in Ft. Wayne, Indiana):

[color=blue]Ms. Everett,

Above the price on all of our products is a coding system that we use for tracking purposes. There is a letter followed by an 8 digit number. The letter is all you need to know. It indicates which plant the product was produced at. Letter A is a bread plant that does not use sesame seeds.

To summarize, you will want to look for the letter A. You will find this letter on Koepplinger products now, as well as Aunt Millie's, Perfection Deli, Sunbeam, Holsum, Hillbilly, and Soft-n-Good products.

Just in case Hillbilly Bread is a bread you purchase, please keep in mind it is normally made in a non-nut usage plant (A). When production exceeds capacity at that plant, some of that bread is shifted to a plant that uses nuts (C). Because only one bag is used for all plants, the cross contamination warning needed to be on there. Please refer to the plant letter code to avoid such an issue if you choose to purchase this bread.

Cool system. That's great that you are now able to decode what is safe and what is not.
