off limits or okay? we just got the news about DS's allergy and are wondering if eating out Chinese has worked for others. Thanks!

Generally speaking, Chinese is one of the worst for cross contamination or hidden ingredients. They do use sesame and peanuts/tree nuts so we have not had any with the kids since finding out about DS's allergies.

There may be some restaurants that are ok for allergies, but I have yet to find one.

I have to agree with Becky. Chinese food unless cooked at home is totally off limits. Sesame oil is in almost everything and the cross contamination of tree nuts/peanuts is almost guaranteed.

We haven't let the kids eat chinese food from restaurants either, because of reasons others have said, esp the sesame oil and seeds.
