I am an RN and work in a hospital. Our pharmacist just sent out a warning about the use of combivent for patients with soybeen or peanut allergy. He informs us that Combivent contains soya lecithin and can cause a reaction in patients who are allergic to soybean or peanuts. Other indivudual inhalers (for example atrovent and ventolin) have changed their propellant to HFA (hydrofluro alkane) which does not have this reactive ingredient.
If you are using this drug, you should talk to a pharmacist and/or your health care provider.
