I was in the grocery store today and another mom was looing at cake mixes and talking to her dtr. It turns out that she was hosting a brithday party for a group of 7 year olds and one of the guests has an allergy to milk. She was shocked at how hard it was to find a mix with no milk. She kept commenting on how all of them seemed to be made in facilities that also process nuts or tree nuts.
She was very concerned...even though her mother was keeping the little girl occupied and rolling her eyes the entire time.

I talked to the mom and thanked her for being so diligent. Since she was only avoiding milk, I told her that the tree nut precautionary label shouldn't be a problem. We discussed epipens and how important it is to use them quickly in the event of an emergency.

It was just so nice to meet a parent that takes it seriously. :happydance
