FYI, in case anyone thought these were sulphite-free.

ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED SULPHITES IN PETALES&CIE PESTO ROSSO SUNDRIED TOMATOES PESTO

OTTAWA, January 25, 2007 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Pétales et Cie are warning people with sensitivities to sulphites not to consume PETALES&CIE Pesto Rosso Sundried tomatoes pesto described below. The affected product contain sulphites which are not declared on the label.

The affected product, PETALES&CIE Pesto Rosso Sundried tomatoes pesto, is sold in a 200 ml glass jar. All lot codes and expiry dates of the product are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in Quebec and Ontario.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with sensitivities to sulphites.

The manufacturer, Pétales et Cie, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
