Hi everyone! I have a question:
I have been living MSG (free glutamate) and gluten free with excellent results, but still noticing some symptoms...

last night I had some popcorn. Popped from the kernel in sunflower oil, with Himalayan salt on it, and organic butter.

I had incredible, incredible mood swings and anxiety within about 40 min of eating it...
any insights?
do any people react to corn this way?

I reacted violently (diarrhea) to some buckwheat the other day, and someone suggested I might have a corn sensitivity because buckwheat is often exposed to corn?

just looking for the missing link... and just want to have a clear head, not feel fatigued all the time, and have normal stools! Ha, ha... :D

take care,
Star

it's hard to figure these things out. if the popcorn is the only corn you reacted to, I'd wonder if it wasn't something else. But if you consistently react to corn, maybe it is corn (?) Any chance of cross contaminating anything with gluten while preparing the popcorn?

also--I've heard that buckwheat is sometimes cross contaminated with wheat. Were you eating buckwheat that was labelled gluten free??

Yes you can react that way! I do almost every time I get exposed to corn. It's one of the first things I notice.

Popcorn "butter" has a lot of ingredients in it. It can be difficult to figure out which ingredient you are having the allergic reaction to.

I have food allergies to many of the ingredients in Popcorn and the "butter", but I don't know which one is causing Anaphalyctic Shock when I inhale it.
