For those of us with FA, Cheesecake Factory is known as a friendly place typically--and I'm not reporting differently. But for those with SFA, I want you to be aware of the fact that at least at the one in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore fries other food in the same oil they use to fry their popcorn shrimp. BUT--they're very aware of this. And the second I mentioned my shellfish allergy and said I wanted the avocado rolls, my waiter said he needed to double check to make sure they weren't fried in the same oil. He asked me to pick an alternate item from the menu--and that's what I ate.

This is not the case with my own Cheesecake Factory (they are allergy aware, but I can eat the avocado rolls there).

So this is a heads up and an FYI.

BTW--if you're traveling to Baltimore, the Marriott Waterfront hotel is fabulous with food allergies!! They brought me special food at my 900 guest dinners and were very careful. Baltimore is a frightening place for someone with SFA, but that hotel was truly wonderful. :D
