I have a son who is wheat allergic.

What is the deal with malt? Is it OK for him to have products that are made from barley malt or rice malt. Is there a different type of wheat malt? or does all malt contain wheat? I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone....

Barley malt is not safe for celiacs, but if your son has only a wheat allergy, it is okay. Barley is a gluten containing grain, but is wheat-free.
