Now that I have 2 egg allergic boys, I think it is time I switched the whole family over to something other than Miracle Whip (I can't stand Mayonnaise). However, I'm kind of hesitant to try the Vegenaise. I've tried making my own and it was pretty gross. Anyone tried the Vegenaise...give me your thoughts. Anyone have any other alternatives, or a GOOD recipe for homemade dressing.

My brother is allergic to eggs so we have switched over to Vegenaise and it's great. The look is the same, the texture is the same and the taste is pretty close. I would say the only difference is that mayonnaise has a bit more of a vinegar-y taste but really that's a small price to pay for the convenience of a mayo substitute. Also, we have used it in hamburgers as a binder and in other cooking recipes or dips.
We haven't tried them all...just the blue and gold containers although I couldn't tell the difference..

I find that Veganaise is much more like mayo, and Nayonaise is much more like Miracle Whip. It's also lower in fat and calories than Veganaise (if that is a concern at all) and comes in a couple varieties.

We love our Veganaise! We tried to make homemade mayonaise with tofu and we tried another brand of eggless mayonaise before lighted on this brand. Huge diference!

We are so happy with it that we stopped looking at other brands.

It's delicious! My whole family (allergic and non-allergic) uses it - on burgers, in sandwiches, in potato salad!

I've used it in place of mayonnaise with no problem. The taste is slightly different but it tastes good.

My parents had it in something I served and couldn't tell the difference.

I've used it. Mixed with a little vinegar, sugar & garlic powder makes a yummy cole slaw dressing. I sometimes put in a bit of sour cream, but we're not dairy allergic.

I don't care for it on a sandwich, but mixed with other stuff it's pretty good.

adult son allergic to peanuts, most tree nuts, eggs and penicillin.
