OK.

So tonight I was stupid. Had ice cream for dessert and decided to add some smucker's ice cream topping...thought I had eaten it before....ate my ice cream. It was delicious. Then I see the word EGGS on the back of the container....I think 'probably a may contain' label....nope. It was listed as natural flavour --from eggs. Reached for the benadryl.

Turns out we had bought caramel instead of butterscotch.

Since when has natural flavoring become egg? Do I really have to add this to the already looong list of super secret egg-rific substances? I thought myself pretty educated.

Glad smuckers lists their product ingredients responsibly though.

Stupid stupid stupid. :oops

Yikes! I hope you're feeling better soon. An honest mistake. We read labels religiously 3x every item (even if we're picking up multiples). We have still noticed an ingredient at the last minute.

If you ingested a known allergen...why did you not use the Epipen? (No judgement-just wondering)

Over the worst of it now.

The reaction surprisingly bad, however I find I can stop the worst of it with a lot of benadryl and puffers. I didn't feel like I was going to get super anaphylactic and I live literally 2 minutes from the hospital.

Plus, I am cheap... prefer to save my pens in case I am out somewhere and something happens.
