We keep a stash of sugarless gum for the kids, our dentist actually provides a free pack of sugarless gum at each visit. Last time, I was given a pack of this Trident Xtra Care gum. Luckily, I actually saw some fine print on the front of the package before I put it in the stash ..... "Recaldent - milk derived".

Sure enough, I check the ingredients and it has casein phosphopeptide in it! In amongst all the crowded writing on the back of the box is a warning to not take this product if you are allergic to milk derivatives.

Geez! Is nothing safe anymore?? The put milk protein in gum so that they can make a claim "strenghtens tooth enamel" on the front of the box? :dungetit

I always check labels, but have never found milk in gum before.... so be careful!
