My daughter is "slightly" allergic to eggs. She's totally fine if the eggs are nicely baked in a cake or otherwise. She will react (just an itch in her mouth) if the eggs aren't cooked enough. Omelets are out for example, muffins are fine.

I want to prepare some Royal Icing for Christmas decoration. My first recipe calls for raw egg whites. Hmmm, no.. Then, another recipe calls for meringue powder. Supposedly, the egg whites have been pasteurised in meringue powder.

Does anyone know if that makes the powder safe for my daughter? I can't find that info anywhere at all.

I purchase a royal icing from the Bulk Barn. It's prepackaged, so there's no worries about xcontamination. I think it's Liberty brand.
