Hello-I just found this site, and love it. Been looking at it for hours.
I was just wondering, and this might sound goofy. But What do people think about Having a Covention, once a year, Allergy related "obviously." ;-) 8) I don't know where this could be at. Or how to get it going. I (family) want to meet people who live with allergies. Who can relate. I live in Washington (edmonds), and would consider going anywhere to see this happen.. I know it's a Big idea. Maybe someone might know how to do this???

Hi AJ, welcome to the forum.

There was an Allergy Expo in Toronto last year. I don't know if it will be repeated, but you can check the website:

It is a good idea. I don't know if the folks who mounted Allergy Expo will be back. They didn't make a go of things financially, even though it was a good show, and a good start.

Perhaps they will try again in future. Such an event may become more doable as more sponsors/products come into the allergy area.

Allergy Expo was great but I suspect it won't happen again for a long time (if ever).

The AAIA ( www.aaia.ca ) has had conferences in the past. I haven't ever been able to go but that might be something of interest. I'm not sure when their next one is going to take place. The last one was in October 2005 in Collingwood Ontario, I believe.

Did anyone on this forum go to that?

AJ - if you live in the U.S. you might be interested to know that FAAN has conferences all over the country. Go to http://www.foodallergy.org/ and look near the bottom right of the page - Sign Up: Conferences.

THank you to everyone.
I do live in US.
Althought Canada sounds better.
I will check out FAAN.
Not much support here. Each county handles it differently.
I have even had a Principle upon "open house" tell me she hoped she would never have to use one since she wasn't sure how..
Needless to say we never went back..
My poor daughter who was 7 at the time, looked at her in disbelief. We later talked about people not understanding allergies..
Sometimes i get so worn out educating. Just want to be around some people who understand...
But my chins up..
Thanks again..everyone.
