Talking Allergies

Hello-My name is Alex or AJ..My daughter has PNut Allergy. She just got a job dog sitting neighbor dog. We checked the dog food and the Milk bone biscuits has Peanuts in it...

Does any one know if ther e is a Peanut Free DOg food/Treats.
Went looking around. Find some that don't list it on their Labels. Called companies. Found that most have cross contamination problems.. All food made in same place.

I was hoping someone might have an answer to this.

Hi Alex,

I had the same problem with my daughter, plus the fact that our dog needs to be on a very special diet as she is proned to developing bladder stones. (She's had two surgeries for stone removal, so we have to be diligent about this). The only treat we give her are plain rice cakes! I just buy the Quaker Oats rice cakes and we break them up in smaller pieces which we keep in a container. They cost pennies compared to the dog treats on the market and my dog loves them!

The food we buy is very specialised for our dog's health problem. The dog was previously on a food that was manufactured in a plant that handled peanut hulls, but the vet found a food that was both suitable for the dog's diet and peanut free. But you could check the brand and see if they make peanut free regular dog food. The brand is Royal Canin. It might be a little pricier, though.

For my own dog(my son is PA), I make her dog treats. I purchase beef liver and place in a pot of boiling water, reduce to simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from the pot and rinse. Place the liver on a baking sheet lined with parchment or other non stick solution and bake for 20 minutes at 250F turning over at the halfway point. Remove from oven. They should be dried but not rock hard. Once cooled store in a container in the fridge. I tear off pieces as needed and my dog LOVES this!

As there are no preservatives, they do not last forever(maybe two weeks maximum) but you could freeze pieces once cooked and bring out as a liversicle until thawed.

The person whom I took training classes from uses hot dogs as a treat however I do not like all the preservatives.

i have a whole book of doggie treat recpies if you want any i'll dig it out, is the only allergy i'm lookign to illiminate peanuts?

i can pull it out and type up a couple of my dog's favourite treats, and then you can buy stuff that you know is allergy safe!

We have 2 dogs, and we were advised to ensure that they're food was also peanut free for our son's sake.

We do not have any peanut products and none of our foods have any contact with peanuts except in our Mother Nature treats, which are made at another facility. Hope this helps.
