I hope it is appropriate to post a link here. This is an article that I was interviewed for. I like it that they emphasize some nice things that people can do to accommodate our kids.

That's great. I wish there was more articles like that in local papers. I've been giving out peanut/nut free candies for years now, but this year, we are putting them in a little loot bag and add a sticker that specifies that the candy inside is peanut/nut free so there's no guess work for the parents.

I should have gone a step further and make it peanut/nut/milk/egg to cover more kids...Next year I will.

I'm actually handing out pencils this year. My husband thinks our house will get egged over it...but I think pencils will be a hit. We'll see how it goes. They had some happy face pencils at walmart...12 for 99 cents.

I like to buy trinkets at the party store or the dollar store. That way, when I have leftovers I can use them for treat bags for my kids birthday parties.

My guys got tiny tubs of playdoh from one house (in a bag of stuff) and were really thrilled - it's funny what makes them happy.

Nicole - I really like your idea of the labels. I will do that next year!! Or maybe non-food even....

K.

What are people giving out this year?

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and have a list of companies to contact about Natural flavour, colour, lactic acid and production lines/ facilities.

I am avoiding milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts and legumes (except soy and green beans).

Although I'm fairly certain there would be no green beans in the halloween candy!

I will post the responses.
