I was out looking for a sunscreen for my son that was fragrance free (not as readily available as one might think) and I came across L'Oreal's "Ombrelle Kids". I was so pleasantly surprised, upon reading the label's ingredients to find, "Does not contain peanut or nut oil". Yeah! :D

That's the one we use, I never even thought to look for nut oil in sunscreen!! Is it common?

i hate nuts,
I'm not sure how common it is - although I have seen almond oil listed in sunscreen before. I don't believe that health and beauty products, in general, are required by law to list ingredients (I think this is changing though - maybe someone else can shed more light on this) -- my "yeah" is more for the fact that it clearly listed in black and white that it was free of peanut/nut oil which I haven't seen before..

That IS great. Confuses me even more that while the awareness of allergies and the need for proper labelling goes up, more and more products are being introduced with nuts and peanut butter in them every day. :?

Not sure about peanut - but nuts are a common ingredient in both sunscreen and suntan lotion. (Personally never did understand the value of suntan lotion. :? )

In my family anything intended to make things/people smell nicer or feel softer is bound to bother someone's skin. Years ago I took my son to a specialist to have a suspicious mole looked at, and Ombrelle was the sunscreen that doctor recommended and we've been using it for the whole family ever since. :D

btw - I don't think it is available in the US anymore, but I can't find out why.
