I've seen references to it in food allergy circles and in "Toddler 411" and visited the web site but it costs more to ship than to buy it there - anyone know who sells it in the U.S.? Anyone try it - how close to PB or soynut butter?

We love Sunbutter. My DH found some near Syracuse NY
In Johnson City, in a organic store/ pharmacy. He can't recall the name though. It's a chain called Wegman or Wegman's

Wegman's is a popular chain with great organics. If you live near the Niagara Falls border, there's one in Buffalo.

In the US there is "Sunbutter" which is made from sunflower seeds and Soynut Butter which is made from Soy. I've imported both to Canada - before I discovered "Peabutter" which is made in Canada from peas.

I don't like the aftertaste of the Soynut butter. I liked the Sunbutter better, but the Peabutter best. Checkout th health food stores - they carry the largest variety.

Thanks for the help.

Wegman's seems to go around our area - the closest is in Scranton, PA. But I'll keep looking - there must be some store around here that carries it.

See also http://www.allergicliving.com/forum/vie ... php?t=1167 - it's possible the U.S. SunButter site would have a list of locations where you can buy it.

It's an amazing product. Our support group has started ordering it in bulk from the Winnipeg and it's become very popular!

The sunflower seed butter sold at Trader Joe's is made by SunButter.

I buy it at Hagen's in Washington State and I think it's really good, too. It is also pretty inexpensive. $2.99 for 500 ml.

I'm not sure if this will help, but Kroger sells it. It's awesome... we love it!

We have tried Nonut butter, Pea butter and SunButter.
Our daughter never really liked the first two and now she has been diagnosed with allergies to peas and beans so the pea butter is off limits anyway.

It took me a long time before she would even contemplate trying SunButter. A few recent reactions had made her shy of trying anything even remotely associated to peanuts.

She loves it and can't get enough! She would have it on toast every day if I let her.

I just purchased sun butter from The WHole Foods Market. or wild oats. You may have one in your area. I love my Wild Oats Market :)
