I just recently found out after a trrip to the ER that my dd#2 is allergic to tree nuts, soy, wheat, milk, and eggs. Her ped just told me to avoid these foods for a year. I have been beside myself, with people volunteering info to me that isn't helpful, and realizing that websites usually address only one allergy at a time.

I am so glad that there is forum that you don't have to pay for to get advice! I can't wait to read through the posts and get some USEFUL information.

Thank you!!!!

Hi Debbmat,

Welcome. Sounds like you're going through the adjustment to "allergic living." It is a bit daunting at first - for any of us who've been there - but the good news is that you come to know it, life with allergies gets easier, and is manageable. I think you'll find the people here very helpful - and many are dealing with multiple food allergies in young children.

None of us here pretend to be medical experts, but we do have the benefit of a lot of allergy experience as either parents of allergic kids or individuals with allergies.

For more "professional" information on this site, I'd point out two areas you can get to from the homepage:

1. The often updated "Ask the Allergists" column which you can reach by clicking on "Columns" on the homepage. This is a collection of some of the best questions from the column of the same name that runs regularly in Allergic Living magazine. With the excellent allergists Dr. Susan Waserman and Dr. Wade Watson.
2. Have a look through the magazine articles in our Archive. (Click on red "archive" tab on the horizontal strip of tabs on the homepage) Allergic Living interviews top professionals in its articles, and information is fact-checked.

Hope you find us helpful. And again, welcome to our online community.
