 Post subject: Freeze or Can food?

I am trying to decide if I should can or freeze!
What are your thoughts?

How big is your freezer?
Freezing is a fast alternative to canning but you have limitted storage in a freezer and if objects aren't properly labelled and tracked you run the risk of losing them to the depths of the freezer where they can be forgotten for years and eventually become UFO's (unidentified frozen objects).
Tomotoes are so nice canned and they are very versatile in this way. I would probably can them and leave the freezer room for fresh/frozen vegetables and meats.

I think some things depend on what you like best.

Here's what we do:

Freeze: corn, peas

Can (jar): tomatoes

I have frozen strawberries, but don't like them when they thaw. I do like to just pop a frozen one in my mouth to let it thaw though. :oops:

I've tried jarring jam, but nobody really enjoyed eating it. I didn't really have the freezer space to try freezing jams, and I also don't have the *stuff*. I've got good glass jars, but I don't want glass in my freezer.
