I am a mother of 2 wonderful girls 4 and 6. My youngest daughter has food allergies. She is allergic to all nuts (coconut included), seeds (mustard, seseme, sunflower), all fish, and sulpha. I have learned to make everything from bread to ketchup. She just started jk this year so now i feel like im always on guard. If someone has peanut butter for breakfeast and then touches her a finger print is on her hand in hives later on. I feel so bad for her. She is great about it and know all her allergies. Hopefully one day she will grow out of it. [/i][/b]

Hi sweetnikkirose -

Welcome to the forum. You will find lots of kindred spirits here, I am sure. Check out the various forums to get acquainted, and let us know if you have specific questions.

The list of my oldest son's allergies is in my signature. He outgrew peanut this year (had a successful oral challenge) and so now the list of allergens has changed from "peanuts and tree nuts" to more specific nuts - pistachios, walnuts, cashews and pecans. His worst reaction (and the one that made us finally see an allergist when he was almost 2) was to green beans, but he has since had a successful oral challenge to green peas. Although he still won't touch them, since he has said they make him feel sick.... Oh well.

My youngest has outgrown wheat and barley - thank God, and was maybe or maybe not allergic to soy and crab, but has since "outgrown" them as well.

So kids DO outgrow things sometimes.

Take care!

K.

Welcome!

I'm also a mother of a 15 month old allergic and wonderful little girl!
We just went for her 3rd round of skin tests, and it looks (fingers crossed) that her egg allergy is weakening! :D It made me so hopeful!
