My son is the brother of a multiple food allergic younger sister.

Our daughter sometimes takes a lot of our enegy. So I wanted to brag to everyone something about my son since I am always talking about my daughter and her allergies.

Both of our kids have found a sport that both of them can do and is pretty allergy safe. They both short track speed skate for the Newmarket Jets.

My son recently entered a video 1 1/2 minutes in length to the INGSpeedSkatingChallenge.com. Well we can't belive it but he made the top 8 in Canada by a panel of judges. Then the voting has turned into a public vote. Kind of like Canadian Idol-with a speed skating twist.

He won last week the first week of public voting and this week he is up against a video from Alberta.

We are really proud of him.

Please check out his video "Going Under 60 Seconds" at www.ingspeedskatingchallenge.com and give him a vote.

Thanks for listening to my news about my son.

Go Connor! He has my vote (he had a better story, too). :)

That is so cool - and Connor should consider acting.

He had the whole tension track going: 'will he make it folks, or won't he".

He got my vote. :)

He hasn't tried any acting. He certainly likes doing presentations for school though.
Thanks for voting.

Am I the only one having a problem voting? I don't see anywhere to click to view the videos or to find the "vidoe showdown area" and I tried clicking all over the screen, so I thought I would just "vote now". When I go there is says to type in my email address then drag the leaf over my selection but it won't move. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Can someone send me the link to where I can view the vidoes? Thanks

go to vote push vote
then enter email where it says enter email
then go down lower on screen you will see 4 photos of the video
the top one on left is my son's
if you put your mouse over the top left of Going under 60 seconds video
then press small black are arrow
then go to next video and view by pushing black arrow (you don't have to watch the whole thing of the second video but you do need to start it
then you will see a maple leaf
just click to the left of the maple leaf and it will move over to Connor's side of the vertical line
then push vote.

Hope this helps

I am glad you figured it out. I did the same thing the first time I went on as I was on a laptop with a small screen.

Thanks for voting for him.

Thanks for everyone votes. Unfortantly he lost the lead at 10:30pm on Sunday night and couldn't get the lead before the ending at midnight in Calgary. He had a lot of fun doing it and he has a great memory of this milestone.

On the weekend both him and his sister skated at the Provincials where Connor almost broke 55 seconds. He did a 55.290. So he has a goal set up for next winter for sure.
