Just came from a seminar this weekend on dangers in our environment.
We spend a lot of time in this forum discussing food and environmental allergies and how they affect the health of our children. There is another health hazard (as if we need more!) looming about which we need to educated ourselves and others. Most of you have read or heard the current buzz on Bisphenol -A - the dangerous plastic that is found in baby bottles, sippy cups and hard water bottles. A fantastic web site with a simple to read research paper is located at
http://www.mindfully.org/Pesticide/EDs-PWG-16jun01.htm
It talks about Bisphenol - A, PVC, and phthalates telling us that everyday-use plastics and household chemicals, and personal care products are full of these endocrine disruptors (things that alter our hormonal systems).
Educate yourselves for your protection and that of your children.

Check the bottom of all your plastics ....within the little recycle symbol there should be a number - if no number, then the plastic is unregulated so could have anything in it.
Code: #1 - safe .... #2 - safer ......#3 PVC - dangerous  ...#5 - safer.......#6 - Polystyrene - not safe  .....#7 - Polycarbonate - not safe
safer water bottles - web sites www.kwkids.com also www.kleankanteen.com and www.metalwaterbottlestore.com
And, as I've stated many times, the store-bought cleaners and personal care products that you think are safe just because they're on the shelves - aren't. Don't trust that the Gov't tells you everything you need to know about products - they don't - and this paper states that too. Read under sub heading "It's All Quite Legal"
