A reminder that AL has lots of forum members who may be interested in joining a local support group, attending meetings or participating in events.

Please feel free to put up any meeting or event announcements in this thread.

If you have interesting news from a meeting you'd like to share, also fine to post.

thanks, Gwen

AllerGen is holding the Third Annual Research Conference from February 10-12, 2008 in Banff, Alberta.

The conference is largely aimed at allergists and allied health professionals. New research to be shared.

Suggest it to your local allergist or asthma specialist!

This is an exciting upcoming event, with the number of participants growing each year! On Sunday, May 25, 2008, the 4th annual Run/Walk for AAIA (Allergy Asthma Information Association) will be held along the Heyden Shoreline in Whitby, Ontario. It will feature a 5 & 10 km Run and Walk, as well as a 2 km Family Scamper. It is a fund-raising event, with proceeds going to support allergy, asthma and anaphylaxis research and education. You may register on-line at www.runningroom.com, or directly through the Whitby Running Room. I hope anyone living in the Greater Toronto area (and beyond) will consider taking part in this fabulous event. Not only is it a fund-raising event, It's also a great opportunity to meet other families afflicted with these conditions. This will be the 3rd year in a row that our family will be taking part, and it is truly a great day, and a wonderful learning experience for our family. Kyle Dine will be entertaining all in attendance at the completion of the run/walk. For those unable to participate, but still wishing to make a donation, you may do so through the AAIA website and specify that the donation is in support of this event. For more information, you may visit www.aaia.ca and click on the Activities tab.

Hope to see you out there!!

Julie

There is still time to register for the upcoming AAIA run/walk taking place on Sunday May 25th! It's a great event, raising funds for a great cause. Hope to see you out there!! Our family will be taking part in the 2 km Family Scamper. The Family Scamper takes place in the opposite direction as the serious runners, so you may bring along strollers, wagons, or even bikes (our kids rode their bikes last year). It's lots of fun! I would recommend that you bring along your own lunch since we will be in a park and there is limited food available. If you wish to register, visit www.runningroom.com and register for the Triple A walk in Whitby.
