Talking Allergies

Over the years that I've been using this forum, it has always given me hope when I saw mention of allergies that have been outgrown. Well today it's my turn to share such news.

DS, 3-1/2 years old, is now able to have dairy and soy. Since these 2 allergies were never anaphylactic, we have been trialling both products at home over the last 4-6 weeks, and I think now we can declare success!

Of course we're still limited by his big 3 ana. allergies, but at least we've got many more options now. And he is already a cheese-aholic. Maybe now he can put on a couple pounds!

Anyway, I just wanted to share some good news. I have always appreciated the support and knowledge of my fellow forum members, and I hope that at least one of you feels at least a twinge of hope for allergies that can be outgrown.

Oh Marla, that's wonderful!

Being able to have soy and milk will make such a difference in what you can purchase as they are both in so many foods.

I am always happy to hear that someones diet is a little less restricted, thanks for sharing.

Daughter: asthma, allergies to egg, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, most legumes (not soy) & penicillin. Developing hayfever type allergies.
Husband: no allergies
Me: allergies to some tree that flowers in May
Cat: allergic to beef, pork and lamb

Wonderful news! You must feel like so many doors have swung open for so many foods your family can share together! That's so cute that your son is enjoying cheese so much. Thanks for sharing your story of hope.

14 yr old daughter: no health issues
11 yr old son: allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, sesame, sunflower, mustard, poppy seeds, green peas, some fruits, instructed to avoid all other legumes (except soy & green beans), pollen, cats, horses

Hooray for you and your son.

That does have to be liberating - especially since soy and milk avoidance together is a tough combo. To get both back - wow, that's huge.
