Hello again!

I had some cashew nuts for the first time in a while (haven't had any since my wheat/other allergies surfaced).

Immediately I noticed something was wrong - got a heavy feeling in my chest, mucous, thick throat, nausea, tingling tongue & then a stomach ache. it lasted for about an hour - was heading for the pills when it subsided.

I had a skin test for hazel and peanuts when I checked for the wheat and rye allergy. the hazel was positive, and the peanut mildly so. I have reacted with oral symptoms to hazelnut but they are OAS symptoms. Peanuts I have never reacted to before. I know the difference between my pollen related allergies (apples etc.) and my true allergies (wheat, rye, corn etc.) and the cashew nut reaction was most definitely a full body reaction. I've never had gastro symptoms from my allergies though, this was a first.

I am going back to my allergist in a couple of weeks time and want to have some background on this. Can you have an isolated allergy to cashews? Should I avoid all nuts all together? Can I continue to have peanuts, as I have never reacted to them?

I ate quite a lot of the nuts, but I know from experience it gets worse with each exposure. What RAST tests should I ask for?

thanks in advance!

In regards to my other allergies, my wheat allergy is finally under control. took a lot of diligence with traces and informing family about contact reactions and contamination.
