We use to buy yougourt covered raisins fom the bulk section, but since our son was diagnosed PA, we've changed our buying habits (to say the least!). I recently picked up a bag of Mariani Yogurt Covered Raisins, and read the label numerous times, there was no mention of 'may contain' or 'shared equipment'. I didn't give it to my kids, but checked the website, where it does list allergen info for the product as follows:

"Allergen Information:

This product is processed on equipment that also processes other products that contain peanuts, tree nuts and wheat."

I wrote to them asking for clarification, and stating that it needs to be clearly stated on the package. I'll let you know what happens.

Here's the reply I received. I hope the packages are changed quickly!

"Thank you for taking the time to contact our family in regards to your question. Our Vanilla and Chocolate Yogurt Raisins are processed on equipment that also processes other products that contain wheat, peanuts and tree nuts. All of our other dried fruits (i.e. Cherries, plums, apricots, tropical medley, mixed fruit) are processed on equipment that also processes products that contain milk, soy and tree nuts. We are in the process of changing all of our labeling to reflect this information."

Feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong forum.

That's great that you got a response so quicky!
It certainly is confusing that may contain statements aren't used consistently.
