I think this is a topic that has been touched on and needs to be expanded on.

With many people either heading off to school, moving out for the first time or just looking at pooling resources due to the economy, roommates are a fact of life for many.

How do you pick a good roommate? Do you set up ground rules in advance? Do you have rules about foods, pets, perfume smoking etc in the home?

How do you bring up issues before they become issues? How do you enforce rules?

Daughter: asthma, allergies to egg, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, most legumes (not soy) & penicillin. Developing hayfever type allergies.
Husband: no allergies
Me: allergies to some tree that flowers in May
Cat: allergic to beef, pork and lamb
