Hello all,

I am allergic to cashews, which comes with a mango and pistachio allergy as well. I've read that Southern Comfort contains mango, I'm not sure to what extent. Does SoCo just include mango flavoring, or are there pharmacologically-active ingredients as well? Can anyone with the same allergy mention whether this drink is safe?

Thanks a bunch!

I wrote to the makers of Southern Comfort and this is what they advised me,
Quote:

Thanks for visiting the Southern Comfort website and for taking the time to write.

Many of our friends wonder about what ingredients make up the great taste of Southern Comfort, but the recipe is a confidential, well-kept secret and has been for many years. But we can tell you that it's a unique combination of over 25 natural fruit, spice, and whiskey flavors that gives Southern Comfort its distinct taste. I can also tell you that Southern Comfort does not contain any of these common allergens: soy, wheat, eggs, milk, peanuts, fish or shellfish. However, Southern Comfort does contain derivatives from tree nuts.

Because we do not have expertise in your medical condition, please be sure to consult with your personal physician regarding your individual case before consuming Southern Comfort.

Thanks once again for writing and for your interest in Southern Comfort.
Best regards,
Darrell

I would suggest you contact them directly regarding your specific allergies.

Thanks! I would have e-mailed myself but I simply couldn't find the address anywhere on their website. I've sent a message and will report back if I get a useful answer.

S, Thanks so much for checking that out.

That's truly daunting to find out. I'd never have expected.
