Hi there,

I'm wondering when other parents began to talk to their kids about the severity of their allergies. DD is 2-1/2 and has a peanut and almond allergy and we have always told her that eating nuts, peanuts, and foods that mom and dad haven't checked out can make her very sick. Lately I feel like she just isn't getting just how serious this is and I'm wondering how to kick up her vigilance in a way that is appropriate for a 2-1/2 year old.

Any suggestions?

We had the best luck by getting Allie the Allergic Elephant from the library. My daughter is 2 1/2 also and she can tell you that peanuts make her sick and asks if something is safe now.
