This program is on right now and is talking about anaphylaxis in school. They are talking to a mom, dad who have a 6 year old daughter anaphylactic to milk, eggs and all nuts, they are also talking to a representative from anaphylaxis canada and a representative from the Vancouver area school board that their daughter is in.

An allergist was also there too. The host was really not well infromed in the beginning. But he did learn a lot. There was one caller who suggested that they "school their daughter at home if they don't like that the food is in the school." The host responded by saying "if you don't like what your kids are able to eat at school...then feed them at home."

Excellent show...did anyone else listen?

I missed it! But a big thump on the head to ignorant parent caller, and a big round of applause for the host with his response. How can people be so rude, I would certainly do what I could to protect someone elses child.

The parent who called in saying the girl should be homeschooled was actually a parent of a child with a nut allergy ( hope she doesn't post here ). Her school is nut free, but she thinks that schools should still allow milk...and the milk allergic kid should stay home. She apparently had no sympathy for people with other allergies. Sometimes its hard to believe that someone who has allergies could be so insensitive to someone with a different allergy.

Exactly!! And she's the parent of an allergic one?? So as long as the allergen affecting HER child is gone, its all good? Double thump.
