Actually the dairy at A&W is in the seasoning, whey. You can get the fries without it but the burgers and stuff are already coated in it, so if you have a dairy allergy A&W is basically out. :(

the only thing i give my son are the apple slices and the apple juice...since it's prepackaged

BUT i had gone into mcdonalds once to see the list of ingredients...they told me they don't provide that ...it's not even on the wrappers of the food! they said to go online and look..however, if you do so ..it's not always updated. so i can't trust them...i refuse to try it. i sent them an email of how unhappy i am/was.

Beth, ask to speak to the manager. Ask him for the binder (they should have one). If they are that disorganized...I wouldn't want to eat at that one.

At our local McDonalds, dd can have the french fries, the ketchup and the toy. :happydance

McD's allergy info availability might be different in the US and Canada?

Regarding the grill and cross contamination, I worked at an A&W when I was 15 and they cooked the meat, chicken and bacon n eggers all on the same grill - not sure if they separated the grill into sections, but I wouldn't entirely trust it. The seasoning was sprinkled onto the patties on the grill, and the cheese was put onto the meat while on the grill, so technically I guess you could request no seasoning on your patty and have it cooked elsewhere (on a plate in the microwave, maybe?), but things also probably have changed since then, and it probably varies depending on size of restaurant, etc. Also, the fries were made in the same oil as onion rings, which I believe would contain egg in the batter.

USA french fries contain milk.
CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK *(Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients).

USA website has much better information on ingredients than Canada!
