After dinner tonight, both of my younger children got rashes at the inside of their elbows, behind knees etc. All bright red. That is how my daughter's severe reaction started, so I was pretty worried. They were very itchy, too. I gave them both Benadryl and an oatmeal bath. They seem fine now, but I have no idea what it was! Some outdoor allergen has been acting up lately, but we weren't outside since earlier.

So we had rice with some enchilada sauce mix (McCormick) mixed in - which includes "spices" in its ingredients, black beans which they have had before, and chicken with cheese, old el paso enchilada sauce, and cilantro. The Old El Paso enchilada sauce also lists "spices" on the ingredients. :frightened Sooooo, I know I wasn't as careful as usual, but the only thing that I was aware of my son being allergic to is peanuts. DD is pn, tn, cottonseed oil, mustard, mangoes, uhhhh some other things, I think see my signature i'm exhausted, lol.

Can you guys think of some things in spices? I guess mustard, but she isn't that allergic to mustard. Her skin prick test showed a one and she was pretty broken out. Help!

Could sesame be the issue. Even Mc Cormick which is peanut/nut free last time I called does process sesame in the same plant.

No it would not be the sesame - I've called McCormick (my son is allergic to sesame) to check out their labelling - said they label for the top - this was last year before mustard got added so that could be the questionable one

I am not too sure if it was McCormick or Clubhouse that was going to start adding Sunflower oil into their spice mixes...I think I may of been Clubhouse but that is something you could look into. I know we checked last year when sunflower was still a grey area for my fiancee, luckly he cleared sunflower off his list of allergies (it is in EVERYTHING!?)

Goodluck.

I just called McCormack spices back and they are not sesame free. They produce and package sesame in the same plant and on the same lines. They just 'practice cleaning' between lines. :confused This drives me crazy. She said it is not an ingredient and they only have to list ingredients. How many times have I heard this lately. :verymad
