Does anyone have any leads on a corn free antibiotic for adults?
I am nursing a toddler with SEVERE corn allergies and need some help finding one that won't make hi sick.

THANK YOU!

I can't help here, but as someone with a corn allergy, I do sympathize.

I'd suggest looking into a compounding pharmacy. http://www.acpcrx.org/ (I'm assuming you're in Canada?)

I spoke with a pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy recently who was extremely helpful. I needed a drug, and the ingredients aren't listed even in the CPS (the manual containing that info.) So she called drug manufacturers for me to see if she could find a cornstarch free one. There was one that I could have fortunately. But I could have gotten the compounding pharmacy to make a pill specifically for me without the cornstarch. (They get the medicinal ingredients from the drug companies and then the pharmacy can add their own nonmedicinal ingredients.) Some drugs are not available in this way (i.e. Tamiflu) but hopefully you can find something for your child! Good luck!

Hi -- thanks for the ideas!

Unfortunately, a compounding pharmacy is REALLY expensive. :(

And no -- I am not in Canada -- this would probably be easier if I were though...

Thanks!

You're welcome! I hope someone chimes in who can help you find what you need. I am somewhat fortunate in that I can have some corn-derived ingredients. i.e. ascorbic acid. It is really difficult if you have to avoid all corn.
