The AAIA's annual Triple A Run Walk/Run will now be held in 5 - yes 5! - cities across Canada.

The donations go to allergy research through CAIFF. This is a great cause, so please so show up and do your part. You don't even have to be a runner - lots of people walk the course.

Here are the cities, and the links in corresponding order:

May 1: Ottawa, Tunney's Pasture.
May 15: Whitby, Ont., Heydenshore Pavilion.
May 16: Kelowna, B.C., City Park.
May 29: Windsor, Ont., Assumption Park.
May 30: Bedford, N.S., DeWolfe Park.

If you can't attend a race or there isn't one in your area, you can still support this great cause by pledging support to a runner.

Runners and walkers looking for pledges - pls say so here. People - rather than giving out personal information - simply hit the "pm" button of a pledger and the pledger can supply you with a direct link to add your pledge in support of his or her race.

For more information - also see the AAIA site: http://www.aaia.ca/en/index.htm

Karen Eck has also started an Ottawa Triple A page here: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5369&hilit=aaia

I'm wondering - with Karen and Ottawa's formidable OASG involved - should Whitby be worried about getting overtaken as the largest of the runs?

Who's going to any of the events?
(I'm hoping to go to Whitby this year, not that I'm much of a runner...)

Our family will be at the AAIA run/walk in Whitby again this year, FOR SURE! My husband is part of the organising committee for the Whitby run. It's fantastic, and I think this will be our 5th year at the run/walk (we always do the 2km family scamper, so it's pretty low key.) Anyone can participate in the run/walk, no matter what their ability. If you want to come out, you can take a leisurely 5 km stroll and let the serious runners run right past you! And believe me, there ARE some serious runners out there. Every year the number of participants increases, so I hope we will see an increase once again. I hope all the other cities get a FANTASTIC turnout. Good luck to everyone helping to organise and those participating.

It's not too late to sign up for the AAIA Triple “A” Ottawa Run/Walk!

To register, go here: http://www.events.runningroom.com/site/?raceId=5348

The registration fees increase after April 24 so it's worth signing up now!

URGENT:

There is an urgent need for 10 more volunteers for water stations for the Ottawa AAIA Triple A Run/Walk on May 1st.

If any of you in the Ottawa area (or any of your friends or family members) are available to help, please email Indica at indica.tenden@gmail.com as soon as possible.

See you there!!

Just reminding.

Runners shake off the cobwebs, we need your spring legs for allergy research funds.

See above - 5 run/walk centres and dates this year.

What a great event! This was the first year that Ottawa participated and I was impressed by the turn out! The weather threatened rain but held off until after the event.
We had a blast. Thanks to all those who made it possible!

I agree, Susan. I thought it went really well in Ottawa, and I was very impressed by how well organized things were.

Indica and David and their team of volunteers should be very proud of what they did.

Here's hoping we raised lots of $$$ too!! :)

K.
