Anyone aware of any Nut Free Ice Cream trucks? Not sure if they even exist! However, we are interested in having one for our school fun fair...

Thanks,
Ang

Hi, I don't know of a truck but recently we discovered a huge line of peanut/tree nut free ice cream products.
All made by Ailments Lebel in Quebec. Sold at Giant Tiger and Costco. Costco has huge boxes that work out WAY WAY cheaper. You might have to attach a cooler to a bike and make your own ice cream cart.

Ang - if you find one let me know.
Wouldn't that be an allergic kid's dream come true?

There are several schools in my district who use Chapman's Ice Cream cups for the hot luch program or for special events. I found the distributor by going to the Chapman's site and sending them an email.
They wrote back fairly quickly. In Kelowna, BC our distributor is Dairyfresh.

Even if you find an ice cream truck that's nut free you're going to have a few kids with other allergies.

I would suggest your school a cooler and just purchase safe frozen treats to sell.

So I have done a bit of searching, calling, emailing...etc! It turns out that Mr. Softee trucks carry nut free ice cream and ice cream cones, but NOT chocolate dip and they carry peanuts on their trucks. Although when I asked him who his supplier was, he wasn't really clear but said it is nut free...hmmm... :scratchy

I have also contacted the local ice cream truck in my area and he has nut free ice cream supplied from Reid's (he told me that he has a letter documenting this fact) and he does not carry any peanuts on his truck! I am still in the works of finding out about his cones...

I suppose each truck carries different kinds of ice cream and we parents just need to do some investigating...as usual!

It seems that there is a bit of hope that my kids might finally have an ice cream from the ice cream truck this summer!
