We are visiting the university in a few weeks and looking for suggestions for allergy-aware places to eat in Victoria B.C. My daughter is anaphylactic to peanuts and hazelnuts.

We would appreciate any feedback from your experiences. Thank you.

I have found a reasonably priced hotel with a full kitchen in Victoria. Has anyone stayed at the Executive House?

I would contact the Vancouver (or Victoria if they have one) Anaphylaxis Support Group. I'm sure they would be able to help you out with great restaurant/allergy info.

Thank you for your suggestions. They are appreciated.
I recall older postings on the Allergic Living site about Victoria but have not been able to find them again. I believe someone had mentioned The Waddling Dog. I can't remember the others. Does that sound familiar to anyone else?

I am not sure if you have already gone to Victoria! If you haven't...

Crumbsy's (http://www.crumsbys.com/) is totally peanut and nut free. It is a cupcake cafe (kid sized cupcakes and adult sized muffins... yum) plus paninis, salads and soups. They also have delicious coffee/lattes/hot chocolate. It is located in Estevan village in Oak Bay.

As for restaurants:
- Ebizo (japanese restaurant) in downtown Victoria (Broughton at Government st) is nut free
- In cook st. village - Prima Strada (suuper nice italian pizzeria) is nut free
- Also in cook st. village - Messob Ethiopian takeout place in the 'food court' doesn't use nuts at all (it's the first floor of a house, ask anyone in cook st. village and they will know where it is)

If you want any more suggestions just let me know!

Thank you for those suggestions. We have been for our university tour. We stayed at Executive House Hotel which meant we had our own kitchen. We ate out once at Moxie's which was fine. I am sure we will have many more trips and will look for your suggestions.
