Talking Allergies

Is there such thing as an egg-free wonton wrapper? And if so, where can I get it or how do you make it?

Peanuts, Tree nuts, Peas, Eggs, Apple, Pear, Peach, Plum, Kiwi, Mustard, Green Beans, Horses, Cows, Grass, Trees....do I need to go on????

We hunted high and low when our son was still allergic to eggs, never did find any. If I ever see any I'll post for you.

DD 12 yrs -no allergies
4 yr old DS - asthma/eczema Anaphylactic to Peanuts, all tree nuts, sesame , all pea/lentil legumes, gelatin.
Allergic to trees, grass,ragweed, feathers, dander, mold and dust.
Outgrew eggs, fish, shellfish

We use rice wraps but we don't cook them so I don't know how they'd be.

I had an idea for egg-free wrappers... not sure if this would work, but it occurred to me yesterday when I was eating a samosa (not with my son). When I was eating it, the flaky pastry reminded me of the puff pastry I've been buying at Superstore - it's the PC brand, and it is egg-free. I use it to make puff pastry pizza (delicious!!), and I wonder if you could adapt it to use in place of wonton wrappers??

There are some phyllo pastries that are dairy and egg free available.
It really depends on what you want to make.
Searching out vegan recipes online is another option.

My son is allergic to eggs and my daughter is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and sesame.

We buy our wrappers from the Loblaws/Superstore/No Frills chain here in Ontario (I am in Oakville). The company is "Hung Wang Foods Inc", and they are in Toronto, Ontario. They also sell them at T&T Supermarket (Chinese supermarket).

We buy the "dumpling/perogy wrappers" which are just made with wheat. They are fabulous! They also sell won ton wrappers made with egg so check the label carefully. I have called the company to ensure there is no nuts in the facility and there is no risk of cross-contamination of eggs/PN/TN/Sesame in this product. We buy them alot and the dumplings freeze quite well.
