A new web-based training program announced in mid-October will assist school-based personnel in dealing with students who have allergic reactions.

The Alberta government and Anaphylaxis Canada joined forces in launching the Canadian Anaphylaxis Readiness Education (CARE) web-based training program for schools across the province.

Teachers and administrators will now have quick access for important and easy to understand tips for keeping allergic students safe.

"It provides one other option," said Laurie Harada, executive director of Anaphylaxis Canada.

"We've actually been working with Alberta Education for awhile."

Leap Technologies Inc., Anaphylaxis Canada and the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology developed the online program with support from the Government of Alberta and other key stakeholders, including McMaster University and AllerGen NCE Inc.
