I thought I should start a new thread regarding safe, corn-free infant formula. I can't imagine how horrible it must be for new moms with corn allergic babies. Almost all formulas contain corn except for one. Here is one Mom's experience in trying to find a corn free formula:

Bought the liquid alimentum last night ( does not contain corn) and what do you know my lo for the first time sleep longer than 2 hours. He slept 6 hours. I can't believe it is all do to corn. So glad I did some research online. He is a different baby. Now we have to fiqure out how we are going to afford $9.28 for 1 quart of ready to feed.

It's difficult for me to read comments like this. I feel so sorry that the little one had to go through so much for so long! You can hear the relief in the mothers post!

Thank goodness we know more now and have access to information. I can't imagine how many families suffered in the past due to allergies and just not knowing. All them "colicky" babies I used to hear about - makes me wonder.
It's so hard when you are a new mom and unsure anyway. Although that instinct thing is very good, it's sometimes hard to get the medical profession to listen and then the doubting yourself begins.
I'm so glad for this forum-it should be much easier now. Knowledge is power. :huggy :goodidea

It is likely that most parents of corn allergic infants have already found this site but I thought I would share the link:

Thanks so much, Eldi, the formula story is so important to share.

FYI, we also have infant discussion boards here. And corn allergy is certainly a welcome topic if you know any C.A. moms looking for another outlet.
