Wooo hoooooo, DD just took the baby sitters course. Along with other first aid there was a small segment on anaphylaxis and an epipen demonstration (which the instructor let our daughter give ). :thumbsup The segment was small but any and all allergy education is a reason to use the dancing banana!!!! :banana

What is extra exciting to me is how many more tweens/teens will be epipen savy due to having taken the babysitters course (assuming they all follow the same program). People with allergic children can't just use any old babysitter but I'm sure many of the kids who take the course have allergic friends who they now are more capable to care for in case of an allergic emergency. :swing

I remember when my dd took this, we were thinking it was really funny (not ha ha funny) that while babysitters are expected to know this stuff, teachers aren't but everyone thinks they do.

Don't forget that the siblings of kids with allergies make great babysitters too. My teen has a tough time babysitting due to her multiple food allergies but her sister doesn't have any allergies and has been trained to watch for allergic reactions and how to use an epi-pen since she was 5 years old :huggy
