:'(

She's 14 and made a terrible mistake. I cringe when people tell (overprotective) me that I should allow DS to have more control over his allergy, he's 7.

I hope she comes out of this ok. I have also been thinking about the other children, as well as the circumstances of the Chicago death. So terribly sad, and feels so close to home. :(

:( :( I hope she comes out of this okay. Such a vulnerable age, and I can really understand why she just wants to join in and hang out with her friends. It's so hard to live day to day with food allergies and never ever relax. As children get older, that's all they want. Unfortunately, when it comes to food, this is never a place where they can just join in... as much as they want to.

Searched yesterday for updates about this girl in Arizona - hoping that the lack of updates is a good thing.

The boy given candy was actually a hazelnut in the candy - remember that as it is my daughter's worst allergen. Couldn't find updates for him either. Here is his original story http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... class.html

My daughter is 14. Very scary age.

She is still in a coma.

Thank you for sharing the update. I have been wondering how she was doing. How awful to still be in a coma.

Thanks for posting this, AnnaMarie. I haven't even ventured into fb yet. I sure wish it was better news....what a beautiful girl....Anna Blue, pretty name. If good thoughts and good wishes do anything, it will be a full recovery soon.

Anna Marie thank you so much for posting this update. I have been thinking about this girl and hoping all was well, sounds like like the situation is still very scary and uncertain .

Update on UK boy.

This linked to the February 1st article and I could not find an update there. If you can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated. Given hazelnut is off the charts for my daughter I relate even more to this story.

Sorry Walooet, I never looked at the date on the link there is just a huge heading that says UPDATE and assumed it was an 'update'. Sorry.

I really wish we could find an update on this little boy.
