Apparently not.

We were at a public market today and there were peanuts and nuts everywhere. I doubt my daughter could have gotten anything safe at the 20+ food places.

Greetings!

We wanted to take the opportunity to address your concerns. Pandora Spirits is very conscious of food allergy issues. This is why we expended great effort to develop a flavored vodka that, while tasting like the center of a peanut butter cup, contains NO peanut allergens.

NutLiquor is made with wheat-distilled vodka, and while distillation removes the gluten, we have chosen not to claim to be "gluten free". However, those with nut allergies have nothing to be concerned about (and it's actually very tasty).

Thanks for your time,

Rich Hellner

Thank you for the information Rich.

I hope that Pandora Spirits will be a trend-setter and label your products with that information!

We wish we could. Federal regulations prohibit us from stating that we're peanut allergen free on our bottle. That's why we try to let people know on our website and other social media venues such as Facebook and Twitter.

We're real...and, frankly, we're getting rave reviews. NutLiquor really does taste like the center of a peanut butter cup.

TTB (used to be ATF) regulations are different than FDA regulations. Our label application included a "No Peanut Allergens" graphic. The TTB doesn't allow that sort of statement, so we were forced to remove it.

Federal regulations don't always make a lot of sense but since you all deal with allergen labeling on a regular basis, I'm sure you understand that :)

Even if you couldn't put "peanut-free" on the label, couldn't the label have the ingredients so that people would know what is in it?

And I'm not telling my teenager about this being a safe liquor

We're not permitted to provide a complete list of ingredients or nutritional information on the label.

(as another consideration, alcohol beverage products cannot be patented, so most producers would be hesitant to provide a complete formulary list of their ingredients)

With the increasing rates of food allergies I foresee a change in that. Or an increase in designated drivers

Fortunately, my teenager thinks drinking is stupid and not worth the money or the effect on her body - perhaps, after all, it is a good thing a lot of our extended family act like idiots when drinking...
