Had the pleasure of speaking to the owner of The Elmvale Bakery at a local farmer's market today. His bakery is completely peanut-free but he does use almond, pecan and walnut (but these are not cross-contaminated with peanut).

Elmvale is a tiny town about 15 minutes north of Barrie, Ontario and here is a blog entry I found online describing how delicious everything is: http://www.thedowntownfoodie.com/2010/0 ... s-and.html

The owner's nephew carries an Epipen for his peanut allergy and he was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He says he used to make peanut butter cookies but stopped specifically so his bakery could be 100% peanut-free - so awesome! My peanut allergic daughter is enjoying her first bakery buttertarts and jelly doughnuts, woo hoo! Enjoy!
