While doing some research I found a site (FAAN) that lists honey as a possible contaminate with nuts. Has anyone else found this? I put honey in my tea on a daily bases and haven't had a problem but I cannot eat creamed honey as it makes my mouth feel funny. The same feeling I get with nuts. I'm wondering if creamed honey has a nut contact? :scratchy any ideas? I checked for ingredients on the packaging and I couldn't find and listed. I don't think I will buy it again but I was just wondering what others are finding.

Hi Sarah,Glad to meet you! That is really interesting..we have a major honey place here in The Grove http://www.beemaid.com/alberta-honey-ht ... /producers (the kids and I went on a tour when we moved here w/friends) and never heard of anything like this, but it made me think about where the bees are getting their ingredients and maybe if there are fields where they grow nuts...very good question.

I think these possible source lists are a starting point. Not all honeys will be contaminated but some might be. Contact your honey manufacturer to inquire about cross contamnination before you consume.

Other than billybee, can anyone recommend a safe honey for those with tree nut allergy?

Thanks!
