My kids, both egg allergic, haven't had a regular flu shot, but we did get them the H1N1 2(?) years ago during the outbreak. We went to our allergist's office to do it, and what the nurse did was to divide it up into two doses, spaced two or three weeks apart. The first day, she gave 1/10 of the 1/2 dose and waited 30 min, I think, for a reaction. When there was none, they were given the 9/10 of the 1/2 dose. Three weeks later, I believe they did the 1/10 and 9/10 again as it might have been a different batch with slightly different ingredients.

My DD who is egg-allergic received two 1/2 doses of the vaccine last year - we didn't know about her allergy at the time. She had no adverse reaction to the shots. I spoke with her allergist yesterday and he told me that we could go ahead with the vaccine again this year - but to monitor for 30 minutes afterward.

DD received the vaccine today with no reaction. She was monitored and then we left. She didn't even seem to be favouring her arm.
