I hope he is able to go with you... I would imagine this would be a very emotional thing to do. :huggy

I can't give you any ideas for hotels because Dh handles all the travel..(that's one of the many reasons I married him) and he has gotten some really awesome deals thru expedia (?) at Fairmonts....he says you have to put in the time to "catch" them though and be ready to roll at a moments notice....not a big issue for me coming from the pipeline and oil industries.

Too bad it wasn't Edmonton, I would so be there for ya (if you wanted)

Thanks Alberta! It would have been awesome to meet up with you if I did go to Edmonton. Hopefully another time.

I have been checking the hotels for weeks and the prices started to climb a lot and some hotels were no longer available (Fairmont and another big one) which is why I grabbed the Delta.

It will be emotional but also satisfying as I am not happy with the US Gov't's treatment of US Citizens living outside of the USA. I won't go into it here but if anyone else is in that situation and wants info please send me a PM. :huggy
